I could find one word to describe the first half of
our year, it would have to be the simple, universal,
"Wow" ... used to express wonder, amazement,
or great pleasure. Each culture has a variation of the
word, some pronunciations differ slightly, but the meaning
is recognized everywhere - the light in the eyes, the
smile, the brightness - it exudes good feelings and
optimism. Wow! That is how I feel when I think about
ebusinessware of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Over the past quarter, you all contributed to keep ebusinessware
on the rocket path that we started in April - more professionals
joined the team, more projects were sold, more training
was given, more lives were improved - in a word, wow!
You will soon see that the new projects are all in exciting
technologies and in great industry segments - credit
derivatives, strategic planning, data management - this
solid, project-level growth will offer our teams around
the world a chance to continue to increase their skills
and help serve our clients. We are entering a special
type of growth right now - it is called transformational
growth. In other words, the company will not only continue
to get bigger, but we must all strive to make ebw better
at the same time. It will take a lot of work, a lot
of will-power and a lot of coordination, but I know
that everyone will rise to the occasion as you have
all demonstrated in the past. I feel tingles of joy
when I think about all the new lights that will shine
as our recently-signed team members see the dedication,
feel the buzz and make it happen! So, enjoy the momentum,
enjoy the challenges and rise to the stars - with ebusinessware
as your support, there is no limit to the excellence
that you can attain. In closing, I would like to issue
three challenges for everyone to reflect on:
1. Make UniRAD real - only you can do it. Each of us
needs to understand the company processes, implement
them, then improve them. Whatever your rank in the firm
may be, if you are not making UniRAD real, you are not
helping the company.
2. Share Knowledge. Intellectual capital is the only
asset that increases in value as it is distributed freely.
Take time to impart training, take time to receive training,
make time to apply the knowledge you gain.
3. Speak Up. If you see something that can be done better
or if you think that something needs to be changed,
then let someone know. If you are not sure where to
go with your suggestion, I have asked Ashu to create
a confidential suggestion box, or you can send me a
mail - ed@ebusinessware.com
. I am giving each of you my word of honor that no-one
will face negative consequences for voicing their opinions
about improving ebusinessware.
Please join me in congratulating the editorial team
for creating another wonderful newsletter - keep it
up team!

I look back five years (since Aug, 1999 when ebusinessware,
Inc. was formed), I see only one phenomenon "Growth".
Growth is traditionally associated with the advancement
of the organization. But in our organization we have
taken a more broader and meaningful view.
ebusinessware growth has surely meant increase in terms
of revenue, profitability, number of offices around
the world as well as number of people across the globe.
All of this has been due to one single and most important
factor that should be attributed, rather dedicated to
our own people.
When Ed and I sit together we often discuss how ebusinessware
has seen our people grow in real sense and how their
dreams have been achieved or are being achieved and
above all, how new and higher dreams and hopes are being
created. We have seen our people move into new and their
own houses, we have seen people getting married, expanding
families and inducting their spouses into ebusinessware
family, buying their cars and other vehicles, growing
to become managers, directors and partners. We have
seen them growing in some of the intangible but important
aspects like gaining knowledge be it in technology,
financial domain, process, personality development,
communication skills improvement, and reaching higher
maturity levels. Above all, we have seen them achieving
the foundation for a nice and secure life style.
Every time I visit our offshore office, situation has
never been the same. It always gets better and better.
All of this has been possible due to the cooperative
and congenial atmosphere that all of you have helped
create. Today, I encourage all of you to continue to
maintain and enhance this very environment where everyone
helps everyone else to grow, succeed and achieve his
or her dreams. I assure you these efforts will never
go wasted.

| The
58th Independence Day of the country, was observed in the
India office on Friday, August 13th. A colourful message on
the notice board greeted all. The spirit of the Day was reinforced
with all employees turning up in traditional Indian attire,
wearing the national flag in the form of badges. A spectrum
of colours and designs greeted viewers as everyone assembled
at the Cafetaria to participate in the two hour long celebration.
A
Kite
Flying Competition marked the beginning of the celebrations
with 10 teams participating. Colourful kites, including
the tri colours of the flag, soared high with supporters
of each team cheering them. August rain made the get-together
more memorable with everyone enjoying the Indian lunch comprising
kadhi chawal, pao bhaji and faluda kulfi.
Post
lunch, four young team members regaled everyone with impromptu
songs. Their spontaneity was appreciated. A Prize Distribution
ceremony followed this.
Prizes were given to: • The nominees and winners of
the Best Dressed Male and Female Colleagues • Regularity
in maintaining Time-Sheets • The Employee of the Month
(July 2004)
• The most sincere observation of the rules of the

i!
I'm Rajiv Ranjan. I am a Java, J2EE, Jacob and Oracle
professional and I have been working with ebusinessware
India for more than a year now.
Please
allow me to introduce you to my project...Electronic
Assistance (EA). It is an Insurance Project comprising three
main modules i.e., EA Life, Esub and EAExpress. EALife/EAExpress
application runs on Prudential agents' Laptops and enables
them to collect client insurance application data at the client's
location. This data is then submitted on the mainframe and
hence becomes a part of Prudential's Electronic Submission
Process. Esub is a web-based version of EALife. The project
uses Java, C++, J2EE, Xml, Java Script, Jacob, Ice, Db2, MS
Access, Adobe SDK, Lotus Notes API, CIC, VPN, Java Swing and
Messaging. I am very happy to add that five new Projects have
added for us in October.
I contribute to my project...by being a Project
Leader and a team member at the same time.I firmly believe
that team spirit wins above all else. As a Project Leader,
I am leading eight modules, the work load is quite enormous.
But I do make sincere efforts all the time. I find my work
challenging as it involves multiple technologies. There is
a lot to learn. This aspect of learning constantly makes my
work meaningful........My mantra of success? I take immense
pride in my work.
My team...embodies hard work, sincerity and
knowledge. The performance of my team has been appreciated
both within our company and by our clients. We have always
delivered on time. I feel that together we are contributing
to our company's growth.

Presentation
on ERP Demystified.
he thrust of
the presentation was on how ERP or Enterprise Resource Planning
is no longer a fad, but a necessity in the present corporate
world. This is because ERP leads to the creation of an Enterprise
as a business organization where all business functions such
as Finance, HR, Manufacturing, Sales, Logistics etc are integrated
and free flow of information takes place in Real Time.
Of the options available to the corporate world for implementing
ERP, ebusinessware
specializes in consulting for Oracle Financials. ebusinessware
has primarily been consulting clients, on the Oracle e-business
suite release 11i, as Oracle ERP Specialists and helping clients
transform themselves into a veritable “Globally Competitive
Enterprise”.
Simer who is an ERP specialist feels that Oracle 11i Enterprise
suite is breaking all barriers with its vision to use the
power of the Internet. This package can help to create a truly
global enterprise with a state-of-the-art system that promises
better information in Real Time at better costs. It is a single
solution system which handles all documentation, communication
in all languages in over sixty countries.
While concluding his presentation Simer aptly summed up, “We
are the One Stop Shop for all your ERP integrations. Look
no further.” A lively question answer session followed
the presentation, with members of the audience asking several
questions.

Presentation
on Reference Data Solution, Credit Dimensions - A walk through
he
presentation highlighted the need for reference data, worldwide
and how ebusinessware
is offering this product with the help of technology to clients
worldwide.
Reference data means data that is referred to, for making
decisions from time to time. It is non-proprietary in nature
and easily available. There is nothing confidential about
this data, which deals with information about addresses, hierarchy
and industry identifiers. This reference data forms the basis
of various credit reports, risk analysis & valuing credit
exposures by banking and financial industry.
Credit Dimensions was formed as a reference data utility tool,
to provide verified and up-to-date information about client
counterparties of big financial entities or banks. Initially,
five big financial houses formed a consortium and agreed to
provide their databases containing information about their
client counterparties to Credit Dimensions. A team of financial
analysts and software engineers at Credit Dimensions is working
on these databases to formulate a Composite Reference Database
which the entire banking and financial service industry would
use in times to come. It is available online at www.creditdimensions.com
which can be used by our clients, to access information through
a username and password.
Reference Data industry is fast assuming significance for
the entire banking & financial service industry, and provides
great oppurtunity to reference data management industry as
a whole.

Minds
Conquer Challenges |
| ne
fine morning, we were posed a challenge to develop an Expense Management
System for one of our major clients in .Net framework. After a thorough
analysis of our own human resources, people with an attitude to
learn and accept challenges were handpicked. We all had only heard
of .net but had never used it. But we had to conquer this challenge.
It didn’t matter which technology we were in, we just made
sure all of us knew we had to ‘Just do it’.
After
the team formation, we all started gathering all the possible technical
resources available and started with a brain storming sessions.
Two people teams were created within the group to explore specific
areas in the technology and at the end of the day, sessions were
conducted to share our thoughts and findings and correlating them
with our existing know how’s. Everyone showed tremendous commitment
and zest to learn more and proved nothing can hold them back. The
team was encouraged to share ideas and everyone felt happy to be
part of this higher ground of learning. To my amazement in about
two months time we were already exploring advanced .net concepts.
One
of the smartest things we could do to adopt this new technology
was the use of six- sigma, we as a team and individuals became process
driven and we were able to set higher standards of project implementation
and management. Now I strongly believe in an adage
“We
may not win every Battle, but we will win the War”
