"If not now, when?"

Many times in one's professional life it is easy to
approach things that require hard work under the
assumption that one will get to it "later". Sadly, in some
cases that day never comes. Yet, as entrepreneurs, we
are charged with looking at the same things as everyone
else, but seeing things differently. As entrepreneurs at ebw,
each of us is called to approach the hard stuff with the attitude
of now, and if not now, when? Passion for results must be burning in our hearts if we are
going to achieve the goals that have been raised at ebusinessware because the bar has been
set high. As I look back on the quarter, I have seen some of the most extraordinary investments of time, energy and results towards making our company the greatest solutions firm in the world.

This quarter, the infrastructure of ebw hit new highs. I would like to congratulate some of our leaders who have developed efficient methods of imparting training and wisdom. It is a famous Latin phrase that Knowledge Crowns those who Seek Her, and this quarter we have devised various methods to increase your ability to seek knowledge - LessonOnDemand, the BOK and related UniRAD tools have been substantially improved to make it easier to find, absorb and add to our Centers of Excellence. The teams approached this challenge voraciously - they could be found all over the world writing tirelessly while on holidays, investing extra hours at night and weekends, a shining example of the attitude required for success - if not now, when?

Meanwhile, our Singapore presence increased by a multiple of 5, that's 500% growth. At the same time as we accommodated this growing sales effort, our HR team relentlessly increased the staffing around the world including creating a new outbound sales team in India. The India sales team has made substantial inroads towards opening our Sydney office this year; because, if not now, when?

In another circle, the Innovation Program resulted in nearly $1 million of annual sales in our first quarter as we packaged and sold the SpreadBot IP assets. In addition to earning the financial proceeds from the sale, I am charging our teams with cultivating an excellent relationship with our new client while ensuring that existing customers like Primus and Citi retain the full benefits and attention that they expect from ebw. And for the next challenge? Find the next IP asset. Find it quickly. If not now, when?

This quarter, ebusinessware was featured in several trade magazines and we participated in various trade shows around the world. In addition, we published our first Wealth Management brochure and will be launching a formal sales campaign for this bustling initiative in the second quarter (Jul - Sep is our second quarter). We will continue to invest carefully in marketing efforts to ensure that we get the word out about our offerings, our excellence and our people. If anyone has ideas about ways to more effectively approach these activities, please send me an email or skype me.

One of the benefits of ebusinessware is that each individual can act entrepreneurially and see practical benefits in the immediate term. We are still nimble enough to adapt and change rapidly to new opportunities, yet the company family provides a net in case of set-back. We offer ample areas for learning as you go, yet the challenge is upon each individual to strive for improvement. Our vision is that each professional at ebw will get the benefit of being able to hone their entrepreneurial skills in a corporate setting, benefiting the company and their professional careers simultaneously. If we can create a collection of the world's best entrepreneurs, then there is no limit to our achievements. The secret lies within each of you and I encourage everyone to take a moment to consider your achievements in our first quarter and seek out ways to improve in the second, because if not now, when?

At an opportune time, Ed has written about the power of thinking like an entrepreneur, acting as an entrepreneur, getting results of an entrepreneur, and getting rewards like an entrepreneur. It was only last year that we formalized our innovation program, which gave some of you the chance to participate in myriads of IP3 assignments that were initiated by people within ranks. Within no time, we started seeing the benefits of these swift executions, highlight being SpreadBot as a live example to be proud about.

Each of our partners is currently working towards only one goal, i.e., how to grow my practice, how to grow the profitability of my practice, how to ensure the financial health of people in my practice, and how to "enhance the knowledge" of people in my practice. Keeping that in mind, we, as a company, decided to invest time and effort in a noble initiative to create a state-of-the-art e-learning platform called LessonOnDemand (LoD).

LoD, once completed, will compete with the best on-line education systems and include over 100 applied and unique courses covering wide ranging categories of

  • Finance as practiced in the world's Leading Financial Centers like New York, London, Tokyo,
        Singapore, Sydney, etc.,
  • In-demand Technologies, Knowledge Silos,
  • Hard to find topics like Application Architecture Patterns,
  • World's Foremost Project Management and Business Analysis Approaches,
  • Highly Coveted Open Source based Systems,
  • Futuristic topics including utilization of products in the areas of Data Warehousing, Storage, ETL,     Business Intelligence, CRM, Work flow, and more
  • Mission Critical Application Development Techniques in a Center of Excellence
  • Ensuring Zero Defect Quality in System Build-out
  • Effective and Advanced Technology Sales Techniques
  • Creation of Infrastructure using Innovative Means
  • World-wide Regulatory Practices in Financial Industry and Accompanying Opportunities
  • Personnel Development in different areas
  • World Class Financial Data Management

Currently, the mood and enthusiasm within the company is unprecedented by any of the standards:

  • Shrikant has been working feverishly to create the best Executive Information System (EIS)     there can be
  • Ashu has been working tirelessly to expand our reach in distant but exotic geographies of     financial industry prowess
  • Rajesh has been guiding our Infrastructure team to research and implement the most     innovative solutions
  • Masood has been working to show case our Insurance industry experience to clients
  • Asheesh has been honing his team in the field of Annuities
  • Mark and Mojgan have been enhancing our reach in the Asset management and Wealth     management space
  • Rakesh has been taking our Project management and Business analysis excellence to the next     level
  • Gaurav and Sudhir have already been able to convince a host of Top Financial Industry Players     that our Financial data management methodology is second to none
  • Jeff and Rajesh have teamed together to charm bright entrepreneurial companies to utilize our     very own UniRAD methodology the max
  • Bleeding edge Credit Derivatives practices of both Sandeep and Vivek have touched new     heights
  • Alison has ensured more publicity for ebusinessware in reputable periodicals than ever before

All of this would not have been possible without an enterprise-wide team effort from all of you. Aren't you all proud of it; Ed and I are full of pride to have all of you as inherent part of ebusinessware, inc. Keeping this in mind, now is the time for all of you to join and contribute further in different segments of Innovation Program (IP3); be it in EIS or Intranet application development, product creation or authoring a course of your choice for others using LessonOnDemand platform as an opportunity or a new innovation of your choice.

    ebw Expands at SINGAPORE
Surpassing the year’s staff supplementation growth projections within the first two quarters of 2006, ebusinessware has posted tremendous growth in its Singapore operations. The team grew at a whopping 356 per cent at Singapore between the beginning and the second quarter of the year. With more team members onboarding, ebusinessware’s expertise in the realm of risk management is clearly emerging as industry best.

Another milestone achieved in the Asia Pacific region was the enrolling of several prestigious global investment banks as ebusinessware clients. While business associations with Credit Suisse are at a high with more projects planned, newer clients such as Barclays Capital have also emerged as keen business partners in the staff supplementation arena. Yet others such as American Express have expressed their interest in exploring partnering opportunities with ebusinessware in the region.

      Takes a Leap to AUSTRALIA
Taking Singapore as the stepping-stone, ebusinessware explored growth opportunities in Australia in the second quarter following a visit by the members of senior management. Showcasing the company's capabilities at CeBIT Australia 2006, ebusinessware interacted deeply with both, industry as well as government representatives. Initial exploring of opportunities yielded several rounds of talks with companies interested in technology solutions and staff supplementation services from the offshore development centre. In order to provide for quick turnaround times for client interaction and follow-up, a senior local representative was also inducted for ebusinessware's regional operations in Australia. Several clients have firmed up business requirements already and ebusinessware is actively following up with them.

    Participated in CeBit Australia 2006
A major Information & Communication Technology event, CeBIT Australia 2006 was held in Sydney in May 2006. This was a perfect platform for not only well established IT companies, but also for the new and upcoming IT companies of the world to showcase their expertise and innovative developments. It was a signature event for the complete range of Gen Next Global technologies and solutions.

The target market for the IT companies was the C-level executives, IT professionals, software developers and business line managers. This informative trade show and conference provided the latest and the best practice in integrated business technology solutions. ebusinessware represented India, participating in a delegation from NASSCOM, the National Association of Software and Service Companies. While around 600 visitors thronged the ebusinessware stall, CeBIT also provided the right opportunity to ebusinessware to interact with various industry experts, notable figures from New South Wales, Central Australian Government and Victorian dignitaries.

    Grows in INDIA
Home to the ebusinessware group's innovative solutions, the Offshore Development Centre at India also witnessed growth in tandem with other locations. The team strength escalated by nothing short of 104 members in the first two quarters of 2006, with 50 members onboarding in the second quarter alone.

As ebusinessware gallops towards new horizons - new clients, new geographies, new employees - it is indeed something to be proud of and to celebrate about. With it however, comes lot of responsibilities on all of us. We have to make sure that as we march on to conquer new territories, we keep on adding value to our existing customers and at the same time win confidence of our newly acquired ones. As we all know, it takes huge amount of effort and time to gain customers' trust and confidence but takes only a single mistake to lose it.

We are all aware of the cut-throat competition - each one of our competitor is working hard to meet clients' expectations. We can no longer be happy by meeting customers' expectations but we must now aim to beat their expectations. In other words, we should no longer aim for customer satisfaction but should strive for customer delight.

So, how do we achieve it? What is our key differentiator? The answer is continuous learning through our newly designed 'LessonOnDemand - LoD'.

LoD has been conceptualized, designed and developed in a very short span of time using the innovative UniRAD approach and the combined brainpower at onsite and offshore. As the name suggests, employees can take lessons 'On Demand'. Employees can browse the courses available, request to be enrolled in them, on approval from LoD administrator undergo courses and accumulate credits and certifications on successful completion of courses. Course categories range from UniRAD framework, Project Management, Finance, Technology, Quality Assurance and Audits. Technology and domain experts, who are continuously interacting with industry and technology leaders, are regularly updating existing courses and adding new courses. All our courses are very practical and bridge the gap between typical classroom courses and the industry trends.

By using this unique approach we aim to be ahead of the competition by keeping ourselves continuously updated with latest trends in technology and the industry. With LoD, we aim to provide efficient business solutions which are in line with these latest trends - thereby achieving customer delight. I would, therefore, like to encourage each one of you to make use of this facility and keep yourselves on the leading edge. If not now, when?

The LessonOnDemand service was born through our effort over many years to try and get ahead in the value-chain of the consulting industry. We must impart "practical" and "applied" knowledge to individuals to turn them from being only "developers" to "solution providers" who can understand our clients' business problems and provide solutions. To survive in this competition we must go up the value chain and that happens only after we build that capability within each individual in the company.

LessonOnDemand is now at a tipping point where a few lucky volunteers (anyone can participate) got together and followed the UniRAD principles to get LoD from a concept to a real web application with multiple courses. Now is the time to take it beyond the tipping point in two ways - (a) contribute in writing courses and (b) make full use of the material and get on the path of being a solution provider and not a developer.

Equipped with our world class content and a learning management system behind it we can offer this service outside ebw as one more child of the IP3 initiative.

When you read news about large consulting contracts worldwide majority of the contract amount is taken by smaller teams from the likes of Accenture and IBM consulting and smaller amounts by much larger teams of India based companies (our competitors). As an interesting exercise try to find the Google company revenue last year and divide that by their average number of employees - all information available on the web. This shows an average of how much each employee contributes to the revenue of their company. Now do the same for India based companies like Infosys and TCS. Agreed that the business models are different but the point is to demonstrate what innovation can do a company.

Let us make use of LoD amongst all the other interesting and innovative services on our Intranet and help ourselves and our company to climb up the value chain and generate wealth and work satifsaction for each one of you.

DASHBOARD: ebusinessware as a company is growing in leaps and bounds and within a year the company has nearly doubled its strength. We have been developing and integrating some state-of-the-art financial applications for some of the most well known financial houses and banks in the world. This tremendous growth has made us realize the need of a process management application, which would facilitate the in-house management and would also provide a detailed view of the various departments within the office.

This requirement led to the development of the ebusinessware Dashboard. It is a snapshot of the company and its current standing. It has been developed in PHP with DRUPAL providing a robust content management system. It provides wide spectrum knowledge about the various departments, trainings, ongoing projects, employees and any news event related to office. Dashboard gets automatically updated from the Tutos and reflects the information available in Tutos in a comprehensive manner.
