In
this edition of our newsletter, we present an overview on
successful offshore partnerships. While most of these partnerships
yield guaranteed benefits to corporate bottom lines at the
end of the day, the process of launching one such partnership
may not be one of the easiest launches to experience.
For
starters, the offshore development team comprises of people
from several time zones and originating from different cultural
perspectives, in countries such as India, China, Ireland,
Israel, Russia or Pakistan. Your doubts, about how effective
the communication levels will be and other technical issues
such as Project Tracking, Integration Issues, Business Continuity
and Protection for Critical data, may linger.
At
the same time, offshore outsourcing accounts for nearly
10% of the $536 billion Global IT services and BPO industry
(Worldwide IT services Market Forecast 2002-2007, Gartner
Research). And that, 80% of Fortune 500 companies had outsourced
some or all of their information management function way
back in 1997. (Outsourcing Institute, New York).
IT
outsourcing is not just a process to gain one-time cost
advantage; in fact, it’s an effective strategy for
gaining and maintaining a competitive advantage.
It
is these successful and strategic partnerships that have
contributed to the trend of IT expenditures going down by
15-25% during the first year and as much as 35-40% by the
third year (according to the META Group). The following
figures will surely add to your determination to go on with
your decision.

The
ability to deliver the right information to the right people
at the right time, helps the world’s best companies
stay competitive in today’s fast changing economy.
In many global companies, the critical marketing data is
locked inside transactional systems, spreadsheets and other
disparate file sources. This data must be consolidated to
have supporting metrics for planning activities including:
| • |
Anticipating changing market conditions and customer
preferences, |
| • |
Forecasting
future demand for products and services |
| • |
Developing
profitable business plans. |
To consistently
beat the competition, the market leaders utilize systems
that integrate all aspects of their client information reporting
to deliver insight to decision makers.
This
case
study presents our experience implementing
a ‘Sales Reporting Data Warehouse solution for one
of the world’s largest financial services companies.
It highlights how ebw helped our client save money, increase
quality and reduce risk through technology and business
process outsourcing.
Our
team’s experience really enables us to take on the
toughest of assignments – We do a lot of mission-critical
stuff.
